Passionate, Experienced Pet Care for Your Beloved Companion!

Hello! My name is Griet, a 45-year-old teacher and social worker who works from home and has a deep passion for animals. I've been caring for animals of all kinds since I was a child—dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, Spanish rats and turtles! My heart is full of love for animals, and I believe every pet deserves attention, care, and a loving environment. That's why I've dedicated myself to being a pet sitter.

As an experienced pet sitter, I’ve worked with all types of dogs, from energetic Podencos to strong-willed Rottweilers. Over the years, my family and I have fostered abandoned dogs, offering them healing and rehabilitation, and helping them find their forever homes. It’s incredibly rewarding to see them blossom into happy, confident dogs. I specialize in working with fearful dogs, and watching them overcome their fears is truly one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve had.

We live in a 3-story home with a secure garden (120m2), just steps away from a beautiful natural park, Liedermeerspark. Our home is peaceful, pet-friendly, and full of love. I have two wonderful cats who are both indoor and outdoor, and they get along wonderfully with dogs, creating a harmonious environment for all pets in our care.

My family shares my passion for animals. My partner, a 45 year old psychologist with expertise in dog behavior, offers training for dogs with behavioral challenges. My 18 year old son lives in a tiny house in the garden. Both love animals immensely and like myself, have a quick loving connection with an animal. Together, we provide top-notch care for all pets. Whether it's walking, playing, or cuddling, we ensure your pet receives the time, attention, and love they deserve.

What I Offer:

Dog Walking: I offer daily walks (at least 30 minutes per walk), but I love hiking, so if your dog enjoys longer walks or runs, I’m happy to accommodate! With nature trails right on our doorstep, I’ll take your dog on amazing adventures. On weekends, we can explore more of the great outdoors, if your dog loves to hike.

Home Boarding & Daycare: I only board dogs from one family at a time to ensure they get the individual attention they deserve. Whether it's a short stay or a longer one, your pet will have access to my secure, 120m² garden and our loving, attentive care. Dogs won’t be left alone for more than an hour, as I work from home and am with your pet throughout the day.

Training and Behavior Support: If your dog needs some behavioral training, I can help! I’ve worked with all types of dogs, including those with anxiety or fear-based behaviors. With patience and the right approach, I’ll help your dog build confidence and work through their challenges. We also provide tips and training exercises for owners.

Health and Comfort: I ensure that your pet is comfortable and well-cared for at all times. From providing regular meals to administering basic medication (non-injectable), I make sure your pet is in a safe, hygienic environment. Your dog will have access to fresh water, a cool spot on warm days, and a cozy, warm spot when it's cold. Your dog will have space to move around and explore in the house & in the garden. In advance we will check if the garden is a secure space for your dog so they can't escape. If it’s nescecary we can make the fence higher. If necessary, I can take your pet to the vet for routine care or in case of an emergency.

Updates and Communication: I keep in touch with you regularly with photo updates and any important news about your pet. If anything changes, you’ll always be in the loop. I understand how important it is to stay connected with your pet while you're away!

Housesitting: I can take care of your plants (I'm really experienced with plants;)), bring in your mail, and make sure the house is in excellent condition during your time away.

I’m available year-round, except during school holidays when I travel.
