Welcome! I am an experienced and passionate animal enthusiast with a diverse background in shelter work, including my involvement at a donkey rescue where I cared for stray cats and dogs. Throughout my time there, I was responsible for the well-being of these animals, ensuring they received proper exercise, socialization, and preparation for adoption. Additionally, I provided essential medical care, including administering medication and even injections when necessary.
WHY TO CHOOSE ME
From my earliest memories, I wanted to have a dog. Growing up in Greece, I would pet all the strays and they would follow me around. I had a CD-ROM dog encyclopedia as a child and studied and learned everything about dogs and their behaviors, as well as personalities by breed. I grew up with a cat and got my first dog at age 15. My first cat passed at age 18 and my dog passed at age 12. I also had goldfish and parakeets and would bring any and all stray animals I found back home. For instance, I kept a tortoise for 10 years in my apartment until I found her a lovely garden to live in. I also had other cats, fostered some dogs, and would rescue birds. As a young adult, I was a dog groomer's assistant. After losing my first dog though, I went on to have three more dogs. A few years ago I left them with a dog sitter to go on vacation and the worst happened, the sitter was careless and two of my three dogs got out of her garden and were hit and killed by cars while I was away; it was also my birthday. I know how important dog safety is and wanting to feel confident with a sitter.
My experience in handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments has equipped me with the skills to confidently handle big, strong pullers and energetic small dogs alike. I am no stranger to the challenges that come with caring for animals in various situations, and I am not afraid to get my hands dirty to ensure their safety and well-being.
While working with the donkey rescue, I also played a crucial role in caring for the cats, including feral cats that required capture for neutering. I understand the unique needs and behaviors of feline friends and can provide them with the attention and care they deserve.
My genuine love for animals and dedication to their welfare drive my motivation as a dog sitter. I believe in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for the dogs in my care, ensuring they feel comfortable, loved, and engaged during their time with me. Whether it's going for long walks, engaging in playtime, or simply offering a calming presence, I am committed to meeting each dog's individual needs.
Your furry family members can rest assured that they will receive the highest level of care and attention under my watch. I am well-prepared to handle any medical emergencies that may arise and will ensure their health and safety at all times.
