Hallo Pawshakler:innen!
Ich bin Melis, und zusammen mit meinem Freund leben wir seit knapp 2 Jahren im ländlichen Umfeld Kölns mit vielen Parks und Wäldern. Bevor ich selber vor 4 Jahren unseren Hund Pluto aufgenommen habe, habe ich mich regelmäßig mit Hunden von Freunden, Nachbarn etc. beschäftigt. Ich habe bereits auf Hunde mit Sozialisierungsproblemen, auffällige Sturköpfe und revier-verteidigende Rüden aufgepasst und habe daher schon einiges erlebt - soll heißen, mir ist bewusst, dass Hunde Hunde sind.

Wie erwähnt, haben wir selber seit 4 Jahren einen unkastrierten Rüden (Pluto). Da wir damals noch mitten im Szeneviertel Hamburgs gelebt haben, habe ich mir für seine Ausbildung sehr intensiv mit Hundetraining befasst und etliche Lektüren durchforstet. Mir ist wichtig, dass Hunde ihren Spaß haben können, aber bestimmte Regeln absolut fest sitzen. Sozialisierung war mir besonders wichtig, da wir Pluto nicht unnötig kastrieren wollten, und das ist uns zum Glück gut gelungen. Den meisten Rüden gegenüber ist Pluto einfach nur desinterisiert, mit manchen, gerade sehr jungen Rüden, spielt er aber auch sehr gerne. Abgesehen davon versteht er sich mit Weibchen natürlich besonders gut. Auch da haben wir ihm sehr früh das Besteigen abtrainiert. Dennoch würden wir natürlich niemals einen Rüden und eine Hündin alleine lassen!

Da ich aktuell einen Online-Lehrgang mache, der noch bis Ende des Jahres dauert, bin ich sehr flexibel und eigentlich immer zuhause. Mein Freund arbeitet ebenfalls von zuhause, weshalb wir gut die Betreuung von Hunden gewährleisten können. Wir haben eine relativ große Wohnung (knapp 75qm) mit vielen Rückzugsorten für die Hunde, außerdem durch die ländliche Lage sehr viele Wälder und Parks. In Absprache mit euch lässt sich da sicherlich auch klären, wieviel Freilauf gewährt werden darf/soll.

Hello Pawshakers!

I'm Melis, and together with my boyfriend we have been living in the countryside of Cologne with lots of parks and woods for almost 2 years. Before I took in our dog Pluto 4 years ago, I regularly took care of dogs belonging to friends and neighbors. I have already looked after dogs with socialization problems, stubborn dogs and territory-defending males and have therefore already experienced a lot - in other words, I am aware that dogs are dogs.

As mentioned, we have had an unneutered male dog (Pluto) for 4 years. As we were still living in the middle of Hamburg's trendy district at the time, I studied dog training very intensively for his training and looked through a lot of books. It's important to me that dogs can have fun, but that certain rules are absolutely fixed. Socialization was particularly important to me, as we didn't want to neuter Pluto unnecessarily, and fortunately we managed that well. Pluto is simply disinterested in most male dogs, but he also loves to play with some, especially very young males. Apart from that, he naturally gets on particularly well with females. Here, too, we trained him very early on to stop mounting. Nevertheless, we would of course never leave a male and a female alone!

As I'm currently doing an online course that lasts until the end of the year, I'm very flexible and actually always at home. My boyfriend also works from home, which is why we are able to take good care of the dogs. We have a relatively large apartment (just under 75 square meters) with lots of places for the dogs to retreat to, as well as lots of woods and parks due to our rural location. In consultation with you, we can certainly clarify how much free running can/should be allowed.
