Hello! My name is Bella, I'm 24 and currently doing a Master's in Transcultural Studies as an international student in Heidelberg University.

I have been surrounded by animals all my life — I grew up with cats, hamsters, and even a few rescued kittens that my mother and I took care of. My mom is a veterinarian and has been working as a pet sitter occasionally, so I learned early how to understand animals and care for them with love and patience.

Besides more recent experience, I successfully pet-sat a cat this July while the owner was away for a week, and I truly enjoyed it! Hopefully, the cat did too :) She is a playful young cat who did very well living with someone new instead of her owner for the first time.

My friends call it my "superpower," but I believe that I just happen to be in the right place at the right time and taking responsibility for an animal that needs attention and help. Recently I helped rescue a lost cat who climbed up a tree and cried, and the other time I was the first one to notice a cat who fell out of the window, called the vet and stayed with the cat until the owner showed up. These moments taught me how to stay calm and patient in difficult situations.

Animals usually feel comfortable with me — even shy or grumpy cats. You can see it in the photos: the ginger cat enjoying scratches is normally quite unfriendly, yet she’s completely relaxed with me; and the cautious striped cat, though careful, clearly feels safe nearby. I truly believe in my ability to understand cats' boundaries because that's what they value most (after the food, obviously ;)).

Since I can't get my own cat yet, I would be happy to take care of yours! I currently live in a shared apartment, so I offer pet-sitting at the owner’s home.
